A REPORT OF 13 ESTABLISHED CHURCH PLANTS

ICC Nairobi’s big goal is to plant 100 churches by the year 2030. The vision has been realized with 13 urban churches in diverse counties and their environs within the nation of Kenya planted and congregating for services every Sunday.

Outreach
Church Plant

The churches were planted between 2020 and 2022 during the Covid pandemic and to the glory of God are thriving connecting people to God and to each other, challenging believers to Christlikeness and changing the world. The vision of raising Godly generations continues to be a reality with the help of God. The 13 church plants are:

Churches planted

Tawa Christian Centre

The church was planted to respond to the need of having an urban ICC church in the Eastern side of Kenya. Makueni has a population of about 987,653.

ICC KISUMU

ICC Kisumu was established to cater for the growing population of believers desiring to fellowship in an urban centered church.

ICC Kitale

ICC Kitale celebrates the following; NextGen ministry, men’s ministry, Ladies ministry and a vibrant Outreach ministry.

ICC Embu

The church felt it was important to plant an English-speaking urban church in the heart of Embu town to take care of the emerging younger population of believers who prefer an English-speaking church.

ICC Thika

ICC Thika was launched in 2020 and the congregation has been meeting from Ananas Mall located on Thika/Garissa road opposite Makongeni bus stage.

JOURNEY VILLAGE KIKUYU

Journey Village Kikuyu was established as part of the 100 church plants project to take care of the growing population of believers who would traverse the two counties to come and fellowship from ICC Nairobi.

ICC KERARAPON

Kerarapon is situated on the Karen-Ngong town highway, 17km away from Nairobi CBD. ICC Kerarapon was planted in 2020 by ICC Nairobi as one of the urban English – speaking churches

Gateway ICC

ICC Nairobi through the visionary leadership moved into this town to establish a church plant with an aim of having an English-speaking urban church in the coastal city.

COMPASSION ICC KITENGELA

Kitengela is a town in Kajiado County about 30 km south of Nairobi and is part of the Nairobi Metropolitan Area. It is one of the fastest growing urban areas of Kenya with a population of 154,436 people.

KAG MUDETE CHRISTIAN CENTRE

Mudete is a local town in Vihiga County with a population of about 554,662 people. ICC Nairobi planted this church after acquiring the church from some local inhabitants who had seized meeting there for various reasons.

ICC BURUBURU

ICC Buruburu is a campus of ICC Nairobi located in the Eastlands part of the city.

ICC MERU

Meru is a town on the eastern part of Kenya about 4 hours from Nairobi. It is the seventh largest urban center in Kenya with about 300,000 residents

PROPOSED CHURCH PLANTS IN NEW LOCATIONS

ICC Nairobi is breaking new grounds in 2022. Plans to build a dream centre that will house the children’s church are underway. The proposed budget for construction is 250 million equivalent to $ 2,100,000. There are 17 proposed urban and missional church plants spread across the 47 counties. The church plants in the cities and major towns will be hubs that will plant more churches in the future. This will help reach out many more partners in raising Godly generations. The proposed 17 church plants location are:

Our vision is to raise Godly generations through connecting people to God and to each other, challenging believers to Christlikeness and changing the world.

With the recent expansion of the Ngong road to a dual carriage most people have moved to build permanent homes in Ngong, Karen, Kilimani, Kileleshwa and its environs. At International Christian Center we believe in growing small as we grow big.

Waiyaki way is one of the major highways that connects the city of Nairobi to the western corridor of Kenya. The main businesses along the highway are shopping malls, Safaricom head office, Villa Rosa Kempinski, UNHCR branch office, Mp shah Hospital, the USAID headquarters in Kenya,

Ruai is the main shopping centre for Njiru, Kamulu and residents living within this environs. It borders Nairobi and Machakos county.

Eldoret is a hub that will strategically usher us to Western Kenya and the North Rift region. We face the future with optimism that God will use us to plant churches beyond the Kenyan borders in Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi and Congo through this door and raise leaders that will impact Africa and beyond.

Kapsabet is a connection town for Kisumu, Kakamega, Kericho, Eldoret and Nakuru towns. Eldoret International Airport is approximately 30km away on Kapsabet-Mosoriot-Eldoret Road.

Machakos is one of the fastest growing towns in Kenya. As Apostle Paul planted churches in Asia minor, his focus was on strategic metropolitan cities so that the gospel would naturally flow from there to other cities.

GOOD HOPE CENTRE MUNDAHA

There are many souls getting lost in Mundaha sublocatin in Kakamega County. Some believe in God but lack biblical teachings to ground them. Secondly, the community is bound in religion and so there arises a need to plant a spiritual church to bring an awakening and revitalize old Christians.

Nyeri is a hub that will plant many churches within the region in the near future. This county is second to Kiambu in terms of population and urbanization in the central region of Kenya.

WHY A CHURCH PLANT IN KARATINA

Karatina is on the Nairobi - Nyeri highway, 25 kilometres southeast of Nyeri town and south of Mount Kenya. Karatina town hosts the largest open air market in Kenya and the People living in Karatina are known to be very active with most economic operations beginning at 4am and ending at 10pm.
